Tue, May 31, 2005 - 7:18 AMThese aren't in the psych. field, but they're great jobs.
Psych majors make great Human Resources people. With a year of post-grad college you can get trained in HR and eventually get certified.
Something that I think psych. majors can be great at is doing big ticket account management. Account Managers need honed people skills- and an understanding of how someone will react and why.

Mon, June 27, 2005 - 8:32 PM**hope this helps. these are in regard to jobs in the psych. field:
from stats.bls.gov/oco/ocos056.htm:
A bachelor’s degree in psychology qualifies a person to assist psychologists and other professionals in community mental health centers, vocational rehabilitation offices, and correctional programs. They may work as research or administrative assistants or become sales or management trainees in business. Some work as technicians in related fields, such as marketing research.
In the Federal Government, candidates having at least 24 semester hours in psychology and one course in statistics qualify for entry-level positions. However, competition for these jobs is keen because this is one of the few areas in which one can work as a psychologist without an advanced degree.
www.psychology.sdsu.edu/advisi...ght.htm
Very few opportunities directly related to psychology will exist for bachelor's degree holders. Some may find jobs as assistants in rehabilitation centers, or in other jobs involving data collection and analysis. Those who meet State certification requirements may become high school psychology teachers.

there's a posting for fast-food restaurant manager! guess it was meant to be... (for the poster's boss at mcdonald's above...)
**basically, a BA in psych. is a social science degree, so you can really do a lot with it. (like business, communications, advertising...) i've known people who went on to be salespeople, pharm. reps, physicians assistants, and those who've pursued higher degrees. to work in the psych field, basically you'll be at the starting level--an aide, assistant, or "tech." unfortunately, the pay for such positions isn't high. good luck!!
